The Logging Job
Each well we drill culminates with the logging job. With the log, we can tell where we are structurally and if there are shows in our target sands to investigate with cores or tests.

Core guns
Many times we investigate our logs shows with sidewall cores where physical samples of rock are pulled from the side of the wellbore at the specific depths. Then after analysis, and we find out if we’ve got oil, gas, or both. We tend to drill wells into multiple potential pay zones (sands), so we like to shoot a lot of cores to get an idea of what we’ve found.

The reserve pit cool down
It gets hot in South Texas, so an afternoon cool down in the reserve pit is quite nice for this pair of rig hands.
